Jetzt nochmal zurück zur Geschichte. Als die Pandemie uns fest im Griff hatte und unsere Leben auf den Kopf stellte, war bei einigen auf einmal viel Zeit. Auf und ab ging es in diesen Jahren, Hoffnung keimte auf, Realitäten brachen auf uns herab. Alles in allem stellte sich Ende Sommer eine gewisse Perspektivlosigkeit ein. Zumindest bei mir.
Schon im Frühjahr 2020 dachte ich oft daran, was ich mal noch so machen könnte. Ich will ja nicht für immer auf Tour sein (also schon, aber realistisch gesehen, eben nicht). Wo sehe ich mich eigentlich in zehn Jahren? Mit eigenem Club? Das war immer ein Traum. Leider im Moment nicht der beste Plan. Oder doch Fotograf? Bäcker? Das sind alles Ideen, die mir in der Zeit so eingefallen sind.
So war ich also seit Sommer 2020 auf „Empfang“ eingestellt, in der Hoffnung etwas zu finden, das Arbeit bringt und Sinn stiftet. Zum einen natürlich primär einen Job, der mich über Wasser hält, zum anderen vielleicht auch eine Idee oder Chance, die sich in die Zukunft tragen lässt. Ich könnte jetzt hier eine lange Geschichte einer Firmengründung erzählen, von der ich kaum glauben kann, wie schnell wir sie auf die Beine gestellt haben. Die kurze Version ist; wir haben eine Firma gegründet und zusammen haben wir ein Familienunternehmen übernommen, um es als solches weiter zu führen. Mein Onkel, mein Vater, ein gemeinsamer Freund und ich.
Die ersten Monate waren sehr ereignisreich, anstrengend aber auch extrem motivierend und aufregend. Mittlerweile haben wir die Krise, in der auch dieses kleine Unternehmen während der Pandemie steckte, überwunden und seit 2023 eine neue zuckerfreie Variante der berühmten CARUSO Hustenbonbons auf den Markt gebracht. Aktuell arbeiten wir an etwas neuem. Dazu irgendwann mal mehr.
Für mich war diese Geschichte ein absoluter Glücksfall. Dass sich genau in dieser Krise eine solche Chance aufgetan hat hätte ich nicht erwartet und ich bin meinem Onkel sehr dankbar, dass er mit seiner Idee auf mich zugekommen ist und mir eine neue Perspektive gegeben hat.
Mittlerweile bin ich auch wieder regelmäßig auf Tour und es hat sich ein neuer „Alltag“ entwickelt und ich führe nun diese Firma oft auch aus dem Tourbus heraus. Denn Das Touren hat wieder begonnen. Zum Glück. Zum Aufhören wäre es mir noch etwas zu früh gewesen.

Now, back to the story. When the pandemic had a tight grip on us and turned our lives upside down, some suddenly found themselves with a lot of time. These years were filled with ups and downs, hope emerged, and realities descended upon us. All in all, by the end of summer, a certain sense of hopelessness set in. At least for me.
In the spring of 2020, I often thought about what else I could do. I don’t want to be on tour forever (well, I do, but realistically speaking, not really). Where do I see myself in ten years? With my own club? That has always been a dream. Unfortunately, at the moment, not the best plan. Or maybe a photographer? A baker? These were all ideas that came to me during that time.
So, since the summer of 2020, I’ve been „tuned in,“ hoping to find something that brings work and meaning. Primarily, of course, a job to keep me afloat, but also maybe an idea or opportunity that can carry into the future. I could tell a long story of starting a company, which I can hardly believe we set up so quickly. The short version is: we started a company, and together we took over a family business to continue it. My uncle, my father, a mutual friend, and I.
The first few months were very eventful, exhausting but also extremely motivating and exciting. We have now overcome the crisis that this small company faced during the pandemic and have launched a new sugar-free version of the famous CARUSO Cough Drops in 2023. Currently, we are working on something new. More on that sometime.
For me, this story was an absolute stroke of luck. I wouldn’t have expected such an opportunity to arise precisely in this crisis, and I am very grateful to my uncle for approaching me with his idea and giving me a new perspective.
Meanwhile, I am back on tour regularly, and a new „routine“ has developed. I often run this company from the tour bus. Because touring has resumed. Luckily. It would have been a bit too early to stop.
